Congratulations to Patricio Guzmán!
Award season is starting and NOSTALGIA FOR THE LIGHT has already two prestigious prizes.
This past weekend it won the highest award offered by the documentary community: Best Feature at the International Documentary Association (IDA) Awards. Patricio Guzmán was in Los Angeles to receive the award and gave a heartfelt acceptance speech saying that "a country without documentary films is like a family without a photo album."
Just one day before, the film had already won Best Documentary Film at the Cinema Tropical Awards for the year's best Latin American films.
The Cinema Eye Honors will take place on January 11th, 2012, and the film is nominated in multiple categories, so stay tuned to see if it will get three out of three! Labels: awards, nostalgia for the light, patricio guzman
